Social Work Experience I find myself wanting to become a School Social Worker, My primary focus is to bring unique and knowledgeable skills to the school district and students. The role of this position is to guide the student, the parents and the teachers and help identify the child's needs. Also, we are establish what interferes with the students learning and closely work with them to provide the services they need to be successful. School social workers primarily work with special needs, poor demeanor students and their families to strengthen social,emotional and behavioral issues.
Why Social Work? Since I was a child, I have had an honest nature of helping the needy. Particularly growing up in a small town, my classmates didn't have the opportunity to work closely with a positive influence. I had seen many peer's dropout of high school because certain services were not available to us. Such as children unable to qualify for reduced or free lunch so they went through an eight hour school day with an empty stomach because their parents lived off of disability and did not have the extra money to spare. Or,students with Asperger's or Autism who were placed in a classroom without other students with disabilities, not getting the attention required to learn. I want to give my best to help the people around me become the people they want to be. I know Wayne State School of Social Work has the up to date resources and highly educated professors to help obtain the knowledge I need to become a Social Worker. Wayne State is in the heart of world poverty. What better location to give back to the community than at Wayne State?
Why 3510?Learning human behavior in a social environment is going to engage the students in applying knowledge to everyday situations where we will be working, studying or interning. There are many insights I would like to learn from my professor and classmates. First, I want to learn how to professionally apply knowledge of the human behavior to the social environment. Second, I want to gain rich insight into social problems to better assist my clients and gain professional judgments. Third, differentiate in many areas of diversity and practice to exclude the influence of personal bias. Fourth, follow the NASW Code of Ethics and apply ethical principles to my practice. And finally, continuously learn and discover, keep an open mind and provide leadership.

I am positive that Wayne State School of Social Work Program will prepare me for the challenges I will face in the future of my career. Wayne States mission is to apply the knowledge needed to ensure the most effective and advance practice. We are here to address everyday problems and promote justice for the underprivileged families, individuals, communities etc. Based on their promising mission, I know when I graduate from the BSW I can use the methods of learning in each individually picked class to better those who are oppressed in society.
